The Ubuntu developers are moving quickly to bring you the absolute latest and greatest software the Open Source Community has to offer. The Jaunty Jackalope Alpha 6 is the fifth alpha release of Ubuntu 9.04, bringing with it a number of new features to improve daily computing. This is still an alpha release. Do not install it on production machines. The final stable version will be released on April 23rd, 2009.

I could have just said this here and not made a blog out of it: I installed jaunty Alpha 6 i386 late last night. No updates so far and no problems.
Much later: I installed with ext4 and my system (X) locks up about once an hour. Usually it happens when the system is idle. Sometimes kaffeine freezes if I pause a movie. It has locked up when copying files to an external drive. I can’t find a pattern yet. I think there’s a problem with ext4 since I didn’t have this problem previously with alpha2 and ext3.
