Cochise County Cyber Patriot teams win the state Middle School Division, the state High School Service Division, and the state High School Open Division.
The competition tests the students ability to secure both Microsoft and Linux (Ubuntu) Operating Systems as well as protecting networks before they are hacked and recovering after they have been hacked.
While no team from Arizona advanced to the national finals, Cochise County teams won the state Middle School Division, the High School Service Division, and the High School Open Division.
In the Middle School Division, teams from Colonel Smith Middle School, Fort Huachuca, took the first, second, and third place state awards.
In the High School Service Division, teams from Buena High School, Sierra Vista, finished first and second in the state and a team from Tombstone High School, Tombstone, finished third.
In the High School Open Division, teams from Buena High School again took first and second at the state level and a team from Prescott High School, Prescott, finished third.
