Cottonwood AZ Open Source Software Society (Cottonwood)
(google map) (yahoo map)
Hello. My name is Mike and I like Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS). I’m attempting to find a group of people who are like minded. Presently, I’m looking for people who would be interested in socializing but in the future I plan on trying to hold computer-club meetings. The purpose of these meetings is both to be social and to try to teach about open source software. I know there is a computer club here in the Verde Valley but they charge for membership. We will meet at coffee shops and other such places so, as Linux is free, the club will be as well. A third thing I would like to do is to periodically have, what they call in Phoenix, installfests. Installfests are events where people, who wish to test FOSS gather together to install a FOSS operating system on their computers (usually as a dual-boot so as to preserve their windows installation). Please, contact me and we’ll get together 🙂 Name of the group? Why of course…. it is COSSS.
feel free to contact Todd if youhave are interested a Cottonwood event
